Russia plans to abandoning its section from the International Space Station (ISS) after 2024

 


The International Space Station (ISS) Launched in 1998, a multinational collaborative project involving Russia, United States, Canada, Japan, and the European space agency. It maintains an orbit from the Earth at 480km away. And 15.54 orbital rounds per day around the Earth.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that they are planning to withdraw from the 20-year-old ISS in 2024 because the station’s structure is ageing. Russia’s Roscosmos space agency plans to own an orbital service space station.

Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin posted a video on the Telegram messaging app and said the aim of having the own Space Station ready to launch in 2025. He also said, the new Russian orbital station is in the work and had begun on its own first core module. Interfax news agency reported that Russian’s first core module is set at cost at $5 billion and it was being assembled by the Energia corporation. He said Moscow to Launch its own station by 2030 in space.

Russia lost its monopoly project for a manned flight to the ISS in last year after the successful mission of Elon Musk’s SpaceX company.

Last month, the cracks in the Russian module that was maybe the source of minor air leaks and they are patched up by cosmonauts. This was the led to pursue a nation space station by Russia.

Russia Space Agency said that it had signed an agreement with China’s National Space Administration, but still not clear about to might develop by together a lunar research station on the surface of the moon, in orbit or both.
